TeaTime editor Lorna Reeves invites you to experience the breathtaking enchantment of France during the holiday season with a bespoke journey through Paris and Strasbourg, complete with a magical stay at the magnificent Ritz Paris. From elegant afternoon teas and immersive culinary workshops to festive Christmas markets and exceptional tea experiences, this curated retreat celebrates the artistry, warmth, and traditions of tea during Noël.
Guests will enjoy luxurious accommodations, exclusive tea-focused experiences, and the opportunity to savor the magic of France at its most beautiful time of year. Highlights include afternoon tea at the legendary Ritz Paris, a tea-pairing masterclass with celebrated tea expert Carine Baudry, a festive Bûches de Noël baking class, and visits to renowned tea purveyors in Alsace.
Accommodations are provided at five-star properties, including the Ritz Paris, Le Grand Mazarin, and Hôtel Maison Rouge.
The retreat is limited to 20 participants.
Each registered participant will receive a one-year subscription to TeaTime. Current subscribers may choose to extend their subscription or gift it to someone special.
Please note that this retreat includes navigating cobblestone streets, crowded public areas, and busy train stations. Participants must be able to manage their own luggage independently, including carrying bags through train stations and boarding and exiting trains without assistance. Please note that during the holiday market season, Strasbourg’s city center is closed to traffic, so there is no direct vehicle access to the hotel.
Arrive in Paris and settle into elegant accommodations at Le Grand Mazarin, a luxurious property located in the heart of the historic Marais district. Later in the afternoon, gather with fellow guests for a welcome afternoon tea as we toast the festive adventures ahead and begin our memorable holiday journey through France.
For today’s experiences, we will split into two groups to celebrate the delicious pairing of tea and French culinary artistry.
One group will begin with an exclusive tea-pairing masterclass led by renowned tea expert Carine Baudry at her atelier in Paris. Guests will discover the nuances of pairing fine teas with carefully selected cheeses or chocolates during this intimate and interactive experience.
The other group will participate in a festive Bûches de Noël baking class at La Cuisine Paris. Participants will create their own traditional French holiday cake. The class concludes with a tasting of the finished desserts paired with teas incorporated into the recipes, offering a delicious exploration of holiday flavors and tea traditions.
Groups will switch activities mid-day, allowing all guests to enjoy both memorable culinary experiences before returning to Le Grand Mazarin for the evening.
Following breakfast, we’ll board a train to Strasbourg, the storybook capital of Alsace and one of Europe’s most celebrated holiday destinations. Upon arrival, guests will settle into accommodations at Hôtel Maison Rouge, ideally situated for exploring the city’s enchanting holiday festivities.
That afternoon, we’ll visit Au Fond du Jardin, a beloved tea salon known for its elaborate décor, refined hospitality, and inventive “traveling” madeleines.
Today is devoted to discovering the famed holiday markets of Strasbourg, where twinkling lights, festive decorations, handcrafted gifts, and seasonal treats transform the city into a magical winter wonderland.
We’ll also enjoy a bespoke visit to Nana Ding Thés d’Exception, an exceptional tea boutique offering thoughtfully curated teas from around the world. Guests will have the opportunity to sample teas and learn more about the shop’s unique philosophy and sourcing practices.
Today, we’ll explore the delightful Christmas markets in other nearby towns, where festively decorated chalets, seasonal delicacies, and Alsatian holiday traditions create an unforgettable atmosphere. After time to explore and shop, we’ll return to Strasbourg for a private afterhours visit to Le Thé des Muses, a renowned teashop whose warm atmosphere and carefully selected teas have made it a favorite of tea lovers for more than two decades, where we’ll sample an array of their unique tisanes.
We’ll return to Paris by train and conclude our journey in grand style with an unforgettable afternoon tea at the iconic Ritz Paris, an experience that perfectly captures the elegance and refinement of the French tea tradition.
Guests will spend the evening luxuriating in the splendid accommodations at the Ritz and exploring Paris at their leisure during the festive holiday season.
Check out and depart for home or your next destination with treasured memories of the holiday in France.
